More Game Legislation

IGN Article

Hmm, yet another couple of states trying to bring forth legislature concerning video games, though this one takes it a bit farther than some of the others. The proposed bill actually wants to make selling a violent or sexually explicit game to a minor a misdemeanor offense, levelling a $1,000 fine for the first offense and $2,500 for each subsequent offense. I think I’m kinda on the fence on this whole issue. I do think something should be done to keep minors from purchasing games rated M (mature) or AO (adults only), but in reality all that needs done is for parents to pay attention to what either they or their children are buying and stop either themselves or their children.

Oh, wait, there’s that nasty logic again. Nasty logic hurts poor Smeagol….
